Accompanied by an expert diving guide, you’ll head to two exceptional diving sites: Bajo Pitt and Pitt Islet. Each dive, approximately 45 minutes, will take you to explore the underwater world of the Galápagos, where you might encounter majestic sea turtles, playful juvenile sea lions, blacktip and whitetip sharks, impressive hammerhead sharks, graceful rays, curious pufferfish, colorful starfish, swift barracudas, agile tunas, elusive moray eels, and many other fascinating species.

Itinerary:

Beginning of the Adventure

Your day of exploration starts early. All passengers should be at the agency by 7:00 a.m. At 7:30 a.m., we will head to Dock Acuario I, where you will meet your naturalist guide and commence your exciting journey to Punta Pitt.

Fascinating Dives

Diving at Bajo Pitt

Upon arriving at Punta Pitt, you will have your first diving immersion at Bajo Pitt. The diving guide will provide you with a comprehensive briefing before immersing yourself in the waters. After completing this immersion, you’ll have time to rest and enjoy snacks and drinks before continuing.

Exploration at Islote Pitt

The second dive will take you to Islote Pitt, where you can explore the marine depths for approximately 45 minutes. Here, you will have the opportunity to observe a variety of marine life, including sea turtles, playful young sea lions, white-tip and black-tip sharks, Galapagos sharks, hammerhead sharks, rays, pufferfish, sea stars, barracudas, tunas, moray eels, and much more.

Land adventure

After your underwater dives, you will head to the beach at Punta Pitt for an onboard lunch. Following this, you’ll embark on a roughly 2-hour round trip hike to Cerro Pitt. Here, you’ll have the chance to encounter one of the island’s most unique species, the red-footed booby, along with others such as the blue-footed booby, Nazca booby, pelicans, frigatebirds, finches, and more.

Back to port

After a day full of underwater and on-land adventures, you will return to the port around 5:00 p.m. The exact schedule may vary depending on ocean conditions, but you will be filled with unforgettable memories from your day at Española.

Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a water bottle, and personal items for your journey.

If you have your own snorkeling or diving equipment, you can bring it either a day before and leave it at the agency or on the day of the tour.

Conditions:

This itinerary is subject to change at the discretion of the Galapagos National Park and your naturalist guide. For instance, you may hike first and dive second in certain cases, depending on ocean conditions. We take safety seriously and always strive to provide the best and safest experience.

Given the pandemic, we have implemented strict cleaning policies. Each set of equipment is thoroughly disinfected between uses, and the agency and boat are cleaned daily. Hand sanitizer is available at all times.
