Itinerary:
Meeting at the Agency
All passengers must be at the agency by 7:00 a.m. on the day of the tour. At 7:30 a.m., we will head to the Pier, where you’ll meet your naturalist guide and commence your navigation towards Cabo Rosa.
Scenic Navigation
During the navigation, you’ll have the chance to enjoy sightings of sea turtles and various bird species. We will pass very close to a rock called ‘La Unión,’ located in open sea, where you can observe pelicans, blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and sea lions resting around the rock.
Exploration of Cabo Rosa and Its Volcanic Formations
After this brief stop, we’ll sail for approximately 20 minutes towards Cabo Rosa, also known as ‘The Tunnels.’ In this stunning location, we’ll observe various volcanic formations. Our naturalist guide will provide a briefing and detailed information about the place and the surrounding animals.
Hike and Snorkeling at 'El Finado
We will continue with a hike until we reach the site called ‘El Finado,’ where we will carry out our snorkeling activity. Here, we can observe a wide variety of tropical fish, sea turtles, eagle rays, marine iguanas, lava lizards, whitetip sharks, and, most notably, the site’s most striking species, the seahorse.
Return to Puerto Villamil
After concluding our activities, we will board our vessel to return to Puerto Villamil. The return to the port is scheduled for around 1:15 p.m., depending on ocean conditions.
Recommendations:
Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a water bottle, and personal items for the trip.
If you have your own snorkeling or diving gear, you can bring it either a day before and leave it at the agency or on the day of the tour.
Conditions:
The tour can also be conducted in the afternoon, starting at 11:00 a.m. and concluding at 4:30 p.m.
