Preparation and Departure
Navigation and Sighting
As you move away from the coast, you’ll enjoy about 30 minutes of navigation towards Tortuga Island. During this time, you may spot playful dolphins approaching to greet you and various bird species soaring across the horizon. This is just the beginning of the excitement that awaits you.
Panga Ride and Bird Watching
Once you arrive at Tortuga Island, the first activity on the agenda is a panga ride along the coast. Accompanied by your naturalist guide, you will immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and observe endemic and native bird species, such as majestic frigatebirds, Nazca boobies, blue-footed boobies, lava gulls, and colorful tropical birds. Your guide will provide a comprehensive briefing and share detailed information about the location and the fascinating creatures around you.
First Dive
After the bird-watching experience, it’s time to dive into the depths of Tortuga Island. Equipped with scuba gear and instructions from your expert diving instructor, you’ll be ready to explore one of the most stunning dive sites off Isabela Island. Here, at a cleaning station, you can witness astonishing animal activity. Hammerhead sharks, giant mantas, sea turtles, a variety of tropical fish, graceful rays, playful sea lions, majestic marine iguanas, and black-and-white tip sharks are just some of the wonders you might encounter. This dive lasts approximately 45 minutes, and the maximum depth reaches 18 meters.
Rest and Refreshments
After the first dive, you will return to the boat to relax and enjoy refreshing snacks and beverages. You will have approximately an hour to recharge before the next dive.
Second dive
The second dive of the day will take you to the west side of Tortuga Island. Once again, you’ll gear up with scuba equipment and receive comprehensive instructions from your diving instructor. Immerse yourself in another underwater world full of wonders, where encounters with hammerhead sharks, Galápagos sharks, reef sharks, majestic manta rays, playful turtles, elusive octopuses, sleek barracudas, curious sea lions, and more await you. The duration of this dive is also approximately 45 minutes.
Back to the port
Your day of underwater adventures will come to an end with a return to the port. The exact time, around 1:15 p.m., will depend on ocean conditions. This experience will leave you with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for the amazing marine life of the Galápagos.

Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a water bottle, and personal items for your journey.
If you have your own snorkeling or diving equipment, you can bring it either the day before and leave it at the agency or on the same day of the tour.
Conditions:
In light of the pandemic, we have implemented strict cleaning policies. Each piece of equipment is thoroughly disinfected between uses, and the agency and the boat are cleaned daily. Hand sanitizer is available at all times.
