Arrival and Meeting
Your exciting day begins with a pickup at your hotel at 8:00 a.m., where you’ll be greeted by our friendly driver, ready to take you to your first destination.
Exploration at Los Gemelos
Our first visit is the intriguing craters known as Los Gemelos. These two craters were formed during past volcanic eruptions and are home to the island’s endemic generation. Here, you’ll have the chance to observe lava cactus trees, the famous Darwin’s finches, the peculiar frigatebird, and the majestic storm petrels. After exploring Los Gemelos, we’ll continue our journey to the next destination.
Encounter with the Turtles at El Chato
Our next stop takes us to El Chato, a private reserve located in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. Here, you’ll marvel at the presence of numerous Galapagos giant tortoises in their natural environment. Accompanied by a Naturalist Guide, you’ll receive information about the rich flora and fauna of this area. After an enriching experience at El Chato, we’ll head towards our next destination.
Adventure in the Lava Tunnels
The Lava Tunnels are another fascinating attraction within the El Chato Reserve. These natural tunnels, created by past volcanic eruptions, extend for approximately 2000 meters and house impressive stalactites and the curious presence of bats. Exploring these tunnels is a unique experience that will take you to the depths of the geological history of the Galapagos Islands.
Return
After a day full of discoveries and adventures, we will begin the return to the port, estimated around 12:00 p.m. This day will have been filled with amazing encounters with nature and an immersion in the wonderful history of the Galapagos.
