Requirement: To have an Advanced Open Water License (minimum of 20 dives) and having dived for at least six months prior to the tour date.

If you do not meet the six-month requirement, it is recommended to undergo a Refresh Dive.

Get ready to dive into an underwater world teeming with sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, and an astonishing diversity of marine life. Accompanied by an experienced diving guide, you will explore two dive sites at Gordon Rocks, a globally renowned location known for its beauty and challenge for advanced divers. This tour promises a unique experience as you immerse yourself in the crystal-clear waters of the Galápagos and marvel at the spectacular marine life that inhabits this underwater environment.

IMPORTANT: Every passenger must arrive at the agency one day before the tour for the equipment test, between 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Visibility: It can range from 10 to 30 meters.
Temperature: January to July: 20°C to 24°C | August to December: 18°C to 22°C.
Depth: 15 – 25 meters

Meeting at the Agency and Departure
All passengers must gather at our agency at 7:00 a.m., where they will be greeted by our expert diving guide. This is the starting point for an exciting day of diving in the Galapagos Islands
Navigation to Gordon Rocks

We will head towards Gordon Rocks, one of the standout diving destinations in the region. This site, located near the coast of Santa Cruz Island, offers two exciting dive spots, known for their strong currents and diverse marine life.

Short Diving Briefing

Once we arrive at Gordon Rocks, our dive guide will provide a detailed briefing about the dive. We’ll select the diving spots based on ocean conditions and the divers’ experience.

First dive

Dive into the crystal-clear waters of Gordon Rocks and explore an underwater world full of Galapagos sharks, whitetip reef sharks, hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, sunfish, and more. Each dive lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Surface Interval

After the first dive, enjoy a surface interval of about an hour to relax and recharge while sharing your exciting experiences with other divers.

Second dive

Return to the depths of Gordon Rocks to further explore this fascinating diving site. Observe marine life in its natural habitat and marvel at the unique species that inhabit these waters.

Return to the port

We’ll conclude our day of diving in the Galápagos Islands and return to the port with unforgettable memories of the underwater wonders we witnessed at Gordon Rocks. The return schedule may vary based on ocean conditions.




Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a water bottle, and personal items for your trip.


If you have your own snorkeling or diving equipment, you can bring it either a day before and leave it at the agency or on the same day as the tour.


This itinerary is subject to changes at the discretion of the Galapagos National Park and your Naturalist guide, depending on ocean conditions. We take safety seriously and always strive to provide the best and safest experience.
Due to the pandemic, we’ve implemented strict cleaning policies. All equipment is thoroughly disinfected between uses, the agency and the boat are cleaned daily, and hand sanitizer is available at all times.


Tour price

Gordon Rocks is one of the best dive sites in the central islands. It is an eroded crater on top of a tuff cone. Near the coast of Santa Cruz Island, this destination offers two dive sites, located 45 minutes from the Itabaca Channel (on the north side of Santa Cruz Island).
